Our Fees

We provide you with an initial consultation free of charge. This helps us to understand your financial objectives and will confirm how we can support you in working towards these. We will also discuss the cost, and levels, of our services both initially and throughout our relationship with you.

Financial Review and Recommendation Fee

Our charge for this service is a fixed fee of £500 payable on provision of the report containing our recommendations to you. This fee will be waived wholly or in part should you decide to implement any of our recommendations.

Policy Arrangement & Implementation Fee : Lump Sum Investments or Transfers

Our charge for lump sum investments or transfers is based on a percentage of the amount you invest and/or transfer. This payment can either be taken from your investment upon receipt by the policy provider or paid directly by you. These charges are applied as follows:

  • Initial charge of 3%
  • Minimum of £500 based on our ‘financial review and recommendation’ fee

Example 1: if we arrange an investment on your behalf for £5,000 our Policy Arrangement & Implementation fee would be £150 (£5,000 x 3%). As this less than the ‘financial review and recommendation’ fee of £500 we would charge you an additional £350 as the balance. The total fee payable would be £500.

Example 2: if we arrange investments on your behalf totalling £100,000 our Policy Arrangement & Implementation fee would be £3000 (£100,000 x 3%). As this exceeds the ‘financial review and recommendation’ fee no other charges would be applied. The total fee payable would be £3000.

Policy Arrangement & Implementation Fee : Regular Contribution Savings or Investments

Our charge for implementing a regular contribution savings or investment plan is as follows:

  • 10% of the first year’s contributions
  • Minimum of £500 based on our ‘financial review and recommendation’ fee

This can fee can either be (1) paid directly on commencement of the policy, or (2) through the policy via monthly deductions. An explanation of these options is provided below.

  1. Fee paid directly on commencement of policy :

Example 1: Assuming a financial review and recommendation fee of £500, if your monthly contribution is £100, our Policy Arrangement & Implementation fee would be £120 (£100 x 10% x 12 months). As this less than the ‘financial review and recommendation’ fee of £500 we would charge you an additional £380 as the balance. The total fee payable would be £500.  

Example 2: Assuming a financial review and recommendation fee of £5000, if your monthly contribution is £1000 our Policy Arrangement & Implementation fee would be £1200 (£1000 x 10% x 12 months). As this exceeds the ‘financial review and recommendation’ fee no other charges would be applied. The total fee payable would be £1200.

  1. Fee paid through policy :

The payment is deducted proportionally from each monthly contribution during the first year.

Example 1: Assuming a financial review and recommendation fee of £500, if your monthly contribution is £100, 10% of the first years contributions would be £120, therefore less than our minimum of £500. 12 payments of £10 (10% of each monthly contribution) will be deducted each month, and the remaining balance of £380 will be paid directly by you at the start of the policy, to bring the total payable by you to £500.

Example 2: Assuming a financial review and recommendation fee of £500, if your monthly contribution is £1000 our Policy Arrangement & Implementation fee would be £1200 (£1000 x 10% x 12 months). This will be collected by deducting £100 from each monthly contribution for the first 12 months. As this exceeds the ‘financial review and recommendation’ fee no other charges would be applied. The total fee payable would be £1200.

Should you decide to pay this charge through your policy and payments to the policy subsequently cease, we will calculate the total payments received to date and charge you the balance against the ‘financial review and recommendation’ fee.

Example: If you invest £1000 pm, we will deduct £100 from each monthly contribution until paid in full. Should payments cease after month 2 (and £200 has been collected) the difference between this and ‘financial review and recommendation’ fee of £500 would be charged i.e. £300.

On-Going Servicing Fees

The yearly cost of our on-going review service is 1% of the total value of your investments.

There is no minimum charge for our service in this instance.

Example 1: if your investments are valued at £100,000 the ongoing management fee we would receive is £1,000 per annum.

Example 2: if your investments are valued at £200,000 the ongoing management fee we would receive is £2,000 per annum.

Where the value of your investments rises, then the fees for this service will increase, conversely, if the value of your investments falls, the cost of this service will decrease. Any change to the level of services throughout this agreement will result in pro-rata charge being applied.

You can choose to pay these fees directly or by deduction from the policy(ies) you hold. Should you wish to pay directly you can spread the payment over a 12 month period by standing order. At each anniversary of this agreement we will revalue your policy(ies) and notify you to any revised annual charges due to any fluctuation of your investment(s) at that time.

When the level of on-going services has been agreed these are deemed to commence immediately and payable monthly in arrears. You can choose to cancel this at any time by providing us with written confirmation of your decision. Payments would then cease within 7 business days or after collection of any due proportion of any period charges if later.

Fee Discounting

There may be instances where the policy arrangement and implementation fees and/or on-going servicing fees detailed above are discounted by your financial adviser. In this event your adviser will detail their reasoning and the mutually agreed fee in your factfind, signed by both parties.

Our General Insurance and Protection Services and Costs

Similar to our investment services above, we will provide you with a personal and financial review prior to making our recommendation(s) to you. Should you accept our recommendation(s) we will arrange the implementation of this/these for you. The reasons for our recommendations will also be provided to you in a written report.

We do not charge a fee for our insurance and protection services as we will normally receive commission from the policy provider. You will not be subject to VAT for this service.

Termination

The authority to act on your behalf may be terminated at any time without penalty by either party giving seven days notice in writing to that effect to the other, without prejudice to the completion of transactions already initiated. Any transactions effected before termination and a due proportion of any period charges for services shall be settled to that date.
